Armi: gli USA citati in giudizio per le atomiche

28.12.2005 Il governo degli Stati Uniti � stato oggi citato in giudizio da alcuni pacifisti pordenonesi. L'atto di citazione, presentato in mattinata al tribunale di Pordenone, chiede al giudice di dichiarare che la presenza delle armi nucleari sulla base di Aviano � illecita e dannosa e conseguentemente ordinare agli USA di rimuovere tutte le bombe nucleari dalla base di Aviano e dal territorio nazionale. Il documento, elaborato da uno staff di avvocati appartenenti alla IALANA (Associazione Internazionale Giuristi Contro le Armi Nucleari) si richiama al Trattato di Non Proliferazione Nucleare, sottoscritto e ratificato dall'Italia, che sancisce l'obbligo per il nostro paese di non ospitare ordigni nucleari e per gli stati nucleari, come gli USA, di non dispiegare tali armamenti al di fuori del proprio territorio. Intanto, in una recente intervista l'ex stato segretario della Difesa statunitense Robert McNamara denuncia l'attuale politica nucleare degli Stati Uniti come "immorale, illegale, militarmente non necessaria e terribilmente pericolosa".

04.12.2005 Dal 26 novembre quattro operatori di "Cristian Peacemakers Team" (CPT) sono stati rapiti in Iraq da un gruppo che ha minacciato di uccidere gli ostaggi se entro l'8 dicembre non verranno rilasciati tutt i detenuti iracheni. A livello internazionale vengono promosse per il 7 dicembre fiaccolate e veglie di solidariet� per rilanciare la contrariet� che anche i CPT hanno tenuto contro l�occupazione irachena. A Roma � prevista la prima iniziativa e si sta raccogliendo un elenco di altre citt�. I CPT sono un gruppo attivo da anni in numerose zone di conflitto con una impostazione rigorosamente nonviolenta e di radicale contestazione delle politiche statunitensi in particolare in Palestina, Iraq, Colombia. Da pi� di un anno nei Territori Occupati Palestinesi i volontari di Operazione Colomba e dei CPT accompagnano assieme i pastori e i contadini di At Tuwani ed i loro bambini per proteggerli dalle violenze di alcuni coloni estremisti. 03.12.2005 Bush ribadisce che in Iraq va tutto sempre meglio e gli Usa non si ritireranno finch� lui sar� presidente. Ma il ritiro delle truppe degli altri paesi � gia cominciato. Della �coalizione dei volenterosi�, forte all�inizio di 44 membri, fanno oggi parte meno di venti paesi. Le ultime truppe in ordine di tempo a partire sono quelle dell�Ucraina, che pochi giorni fa hanno lasciato all�esercito iracheno il controllo della citt� di Kut. Dopo due anni, gli iracheni continuano a chiedere di governare in maniera autonoma. La questione della necessit� di un ritiro � stata sancita anche dalla riunione preparatoria alla conferenza di riconciliazione nazionale, che si � svolta al Cairo dal 19 al 21 novembre. Vengono invece alla luce gli altri problemi che affliggono l�Iraq: non a caso l�ex premier Iyad Allawi ha di fatto aperto la sua campagna elettorale presentandosi come paladino dei diritti umani. L�assenza di sicurezza e di diritto, sia essa provocata dalla polizia irachena o dalle milizie, colpisce adesso anche la piccola economia.
